I intend to get the Dahon Speed P8 from a online store located in Malaysia. However they say only Black is available instead of the Red. I checked around and realise there is no Black Speed P8. PLease advise. Thanks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Could be a Chinese model. No harm in that unless you want
the lastest and greatest. Chinese models will have Sram X9 gears and Big Apple tyres. Should be around $US400. Good value in my opinion. Any pictures? |

The price quoted by them is around USD$620, which i am not sure if that is the model you are referring to. However if it happens to be a Chinese Model, will it affect the warranty? I read somewhere that China Model's warranty is only for China and not international. Is that right? Many thanks! |

Dahon makes the Speed P8 available to distributors in 2 colors: 1.Fire (Red) and 2.Obsidian (Black) and it is the choice of the Dahon International distributor (who sells to Dahon dealers) to carry either color. Please see the attached copy of the Dahon warranty. Note that the warranty is only valid in the country to which the bicycle is purchased in and that to validate your warranty, your bicycle’s assembly should be checked by a professional bicycle technician prior to your first ride. Dahon would encourage you to purchase your bicycle locally at a Singapore Dahon dealer. The price of the bicycle usually includes assembly, adjustment and a free 30 day (or 300~500km) service visit to readjust anything that may have come out of adjustment. To some people, their higher priority is not service but availability of a certain model,color or low price; so if you take that direction, please be aware that you have respectfully been advised. I have the opposite problem - I really want the black version of the Dahon Speed P8 but I can not get it in Canada. |
